What Are
Orthodontic Braces?
Orthodontic or dental braces are a popular dental treatment designed to straighten your teeth over time. By applying gentle pressure with regular readjustments, braces are able to gradually move crooked teeth into the desired position. This can even be used to correct an incorrect bite: such as an overbite, underbite, open bite, cross bite or protruding teeth.
Not only do braces enhance the appearance of your teeth, but the proper alignment of teeth also provides numerous oral health benefits such as making them easier to clean and harder for food debris to get trapped or build up.
If you're considering cosmetic dentistry, dental composite bonding can also help create a straighter appearance for slightly crooked front teeth.

What Is The Purpose Of Orthodontic Braces?
The purpose of orthodontic braces is to correct dental misalignments and malocclusions (bite problems) in order to achieve a straighter and healthier smile. Braces work by applying gentle and controlled forces to gradually move the teeth into their proper positions over a period of time.
By repositioning the teeth, braces help improve the overall appearance of the smile, enhance facial symmetry, and create a more harmonious relationship between the teeth and jaws.

Which Type Of Orthodontic Braces Do I Need?
We offer a variety of orthodontic braces at TLC Dentist as general dentists.
Our experienced dentists will assess your dental condition and provide you with their recommendations on what options best suit you at your consultation. Please note that some braces take more time and cost than others.
We offer our patients flexible payment options such as Afterpay or Humm to help make payments easier to manage.

Avoid certain foods
Avoid hard, sticky, and chewy foods to protect your braces. With Invisalign, eat normally but remove aligners before meals. - 02
Sleep smart
If you have metal, ceramic, or self-ligating braces, avoid sleeping on your side or stomach, as this can put pressure on your braces and affect the alignment process. Try sleeping on your back to protect your braces. - 03
Maintain good oral hygiene
Brush your teeth gently at least twice a day, making sure to floss regularly and use mouthwash to keep your mouth clean. After completing your treatment, continue wearing your retainer as instructed to maintain your new smile. Our dental team will inform you about brace adjustments during your consultation. We'll also share tips for maintaining oral hygiene while wearing braces.
